VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing
The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills to an advanced level through a variety of techniques in the following units; the creative art of cutting women’s hair, the artistic skill of colouring, imaginative dexterity of styling and dressing hair, and how to provide effective consultation support for colleagues.
Underpinning this qualification, you will develop a sound knowledge of monitoring health and safety whilst working in the hairdressing industry. You will also develop a knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification. The purpose of this qualification is to develop your practical skills to an advanced level of occupational ability to enable you to perform your own salon services as well as support others.
This fast-track course can be completed at your own pace and around your commitments making it the perfect choice for those wanting a good balance of classroom teaching and home learning.
You will also be required to do some home-based learning to practice your skills and complete homework as part of this course.

Entry requirements
➖ You must have a Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing qualification
➖ Good standard of English sufficient to complete the course competences and online examination
➖ Students must be over 16 years old to enrol on this course
When does the course start?
➖ The Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing course starts every February and September
How long is the course?
➖ 18 weeks (one day a week)
➖ 10am - 5pm

How will I be assessed?
➖ Online theory tests (multiple choice)

Do I need to bring a model?
No. However, you can bring a model for your practical assessments if you wish to.
At all other times students will be expected to practice on dolls heads.What do I need to buy for this course?

➖ Uniform - therapist tunic, black trousers and black flat closed toe shoes
➖ Kit - you will need to purchase a hairdressing kit £250
➖ Products - whilst you are training with us, we provide all the consumables and products you will need
What can I do with this qualification?
There are so many options with this qualification. You can seek employment within the hairdressing industry as a stylist, colourist, salon manager or you can set up your own salon or mobile business. You could decide to take your qualification abroad and work internationally in a hotel or on a cruise ship, or share your skills and become a lecturer at a beauty college. This VTCT Level 3 in Hairdressing is a highly recognised qualification that is accepted across the UK for working in salons, hotels and spas or as a freelance hairdresser. This is an internationally accredited qualification that you can use to work across the globe, on cruise liners or in other international beauty related sectors.
